Sophie Garralon is a French artist, born on January 30, 1966.
She creates colorful high-relief compositions. Emerging volumes, structures with bursting, fragmented, and dynamic lines…
The beginning of a work starts with the freedom of forms, a tangle of tiny, interwoven chaotic elements, and random lines.
At this stage, the uncertain reading of the piece inspires the artist toward a new direction. She plays with colors—often complementary (red/green, yellow/violet, orange/blue)—and diverse materials such as cardboard, vinyl paper, and glitter highlights.
The artist seeks to capture the viewer’s eye and senses through multicolored graphic optical effects and textured surfaces. The dreamlike vitality in this joyful complexity invites the observer to awaken the emotions of the child within.
She aims to connect with the original inner world of each viewer—reminiscences of early aesthetic discoveries in childhood. As a Mexican woman once told her, in her country, “paintings with certain colors have the vocation to heal the soul.”
