The collaboration between glass artist Laetitia Andrighetto and glassblower Jean-Charles Miot began immediately after completing their training at CERFAV (European Research and Training Center for Glass Arts, Vannes-le-Châtel) in 2009. Their shared studio was established in 2012 in the heart of the Landes, in Mont-de-Marsan.
While developing a creative dialogue on joint works, they also cultivate individual artistic universes. Jean-Charles focuses on technique and aesthetics through a constant interplay with gravity and balance, which defines the art of glassblowing. He experiences the immediacy of hot-work as a choreography—a dance—where he must carefully follow each phase while leaving room for improvisation.
Laetitia, on the other hand, finds her personal expression in the artistic realm. Utopian drifts, alchemy, and memory work guide her creativity. Her artistic universe, inspired by the landscapes of her childhood in the Landes, and her particular sensitivity, fuel an intensely expressive work. When they converge on a project, a balance is achieved, shaping the direction of their glass creations as a bridge between Art and Design.
“Their work is a sophisticated interplay between mind and body: Laetitia Andrighetto driven by the desire to know ‘Why,’ and Jean-Charles Miot responding with ‘How.’ Sometimes these roles reverse, but the outcome always results in a harmonious agreement—an equilibrium between skill and intent.”
The unique creations from their studio resonate in both sculptural forms and interior decoration and design. They combine traditional craftsmanship with innovation and a resolutely contemporary aesthetic.
